Year end review of 2008
That’s right, it’s only logical to write the review at the beginning of a new year, as last year is officially over and nothing can change anymore.
What happened:
Many things had happened in the world in 2008, most of which are quite depressing and heartbreaking. But in my personal life, only one thing happened–the Xus’ upgradaed and added a new part (that’s right, there are 3 of us now)!
I wasn’t quite excited during the 9 month with a growing belly, and sometimes got mad at the little guy for his rib-unfriendly-kicks. But I started to love him so much more once I met him and got to know him better. He really is a very sweet and special young man. He never gives us hard time, as long as we receive and process his signals correctly. So far the most frequent signals are–”I’m hungry”, and ” could you please change my diaper, please!”, and we are improving at the receiving end. Sometimes when we mess up (oh come on, all first timers mess up), he doesn’t complain too much and can be very patient, I’m so grateful for such a wonderful baby. ok, I will stop bragging about my little dude before you throw a pineapple at your monitor.
What I’ve learned:
It’s amazing how quickly people (or maybe just me) forget about stuff. Right now when I’m sitting here typing, the only thing I can think of (as new skills learned) is diaper changing, nursing, and bathing a baby. You would think those things are easy, well, not quite true, especially the nursing part. It’s so ridiculous that as a mammal, I just have no idea how to nurse a baby when I held him against my chest for the first time, and how much painstaking mistakes I had made before I could do it right.
