Rejected III
Hardly focusing on research, so I am writing here to report my third rejection.
The good side, I have been to the New York Times, I mean, the company located near the Times Square, though 5 blocks away in a precise way. I guess I will still laugh awake from sleep that I could attend an on-site interview in NY Times.
So up to now, I have been interviewed/rejected by (in time sequence):
- the top 1 consulting company
- the top 1 quant company (since its CEO is quant king, I guess I can call it this way)
- the top 1 News company
Wow, what a big show off here
Along the way, the mileage varied a lot. First one, I stopped at the campus interview. Second one, I didn’t pass the phone interview. Third one, I was blocked by the Product Manager, calling me all “green”, on-site. Unfortunately, “green” here doesn’t sign I can pass, instead, it means I am quite fresh, without real working experience.
So what will be the next? I hope, at least from the extrapolation of the current trace, the fourth one will be a good one.
As I wasn’t applying for a quant position at the quant company, I didn’t apply for a news reporter/journalist at this News company (if I did that, who would interview. Maybe because I posted most in our journal
). So what did I apply for?
I will save it for the next post or something (I guess you can have some clue from my previous post). I become a little happier after writing the post. Back to work ~
